Prospectus delay is due to the Diocese asking, in view of a resurgence of Covid-19 and its variants, that no large groups convene in Queen of Angels Church indoor spaces. Thus, we are having to change parameters of the two upcoming shows. No one knows what coming months will bring and all indoor facilities available may have similar issues. The shift it may be a plus because it would be harder to change later. Pastor Dowd is assisting with an outdoor location, which we truly appreciate. Outdoors has its challenges, but will be healthier for artists and guests, and provide more time and more space. So, we are planning: 1. QUEEN OF ANGELS CRAFTS & ART PRE-HOLIDAY FAIR will now be on Sat., Nov. 13, outside in a large, paved area off 43rd Street between Skillman and 43rd Avenue. We are working on tents. We will again feature a “enter day-of-fair wreath competition” in any medium, judged by guests, with a small cash prize. 2. SUNNYSIDE ARTISTS FINE ART COMPETITION will occur in January with a topic of “Self Portrait” in any media. Entries will be voted in our blind jury method by participating artists. First, second and third Luke Adams Art Prizes, at $1000, $500, and $300, will be bestowed at opening Wine Reception. All of 25 finalists displayed at the local restaurant for five weeks. Stay tuned for more info and email [email protected] to receive prospectus for both shows! INFORMATION ON UPCOMING SHOWS COMING. No prospectuses yet.

We have the wall, the modus operandi, and permissions. Judging will be blind and online, a method we have perfected and used in the past. Results will also be online. The usual accompanying event, the Annual Queen of Angels Fine Art Fair will not occur this year. No prospectus yet but one coming soon for STREET MURAL. Email SunnysideArtists@gmail if you are not yet on our email list and want to receive one. You do not have to be a muralist or graffiti writer to enter. In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile. In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm. I realized, through all that, that… In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer." -Albert Camus • Have "sophisticated" pop up games like "pin the tail on the brontosaurus" and "how many van gogh ears in the bottle?" Okay for kids!
• $50/$50 tickets at $5, winner take half! • Liz Taylor concocting special beverage, "Bananas Foster" • Some great regular raffles and some artists are showing, as space allows, and donating 10% back to SA.
